July 21, Fineko/abc.az. Rail travel within Europe remains 71% more expensive than air travel.

ABC.AZ informs that the Greenpeace study compares the prices of flights and trains via 112 European routes, and it turned out that traveling by train was cheaper than flying only in 23 cases.

As a result, despite the fact that air travel produces more greenhouse gases than traveling by train, people often choose the first types of transport.

In Poland, traveling by train costs half as much as flying by plane. The most expensive country for rail travel is the UK, where travelers pay 4-fold more for a train ride than for an airplane flight.

For example, a trip from Barcelona to London by train costs about €384, while a flight can cost only €12.99, according to the report.
