AZAL optimizes ticket prices

April 5, Fineko/abc.az. One of the main reforms in connection with Azerbaijan Airlines CJSC (AZAL) is optimization of ticket prices, ABC.AZ reports, quoting Deputy Minister of Digital Development & Transport Rahman Gummatov.

Gummatov believes that AZAL's prices are not so high compared with competitors: "If we compare AZAL with the companies corresponding to its class and category of services, it is clear that the prices are proportional to the services provided. However, we are also working to make air tickets cheaper. As a result of the measures taken in this direction, customers are offered tickets at various prices. For example, those wishing to purchase tickets for the Baku-Moscow flight can choose between Buta Airways, which offers tickets from 29 euros, and AZAL - from 135 euros, for the Baku-Dubai - AZAL flight offers tickets from 133 euros, for the Baku-Istanbul - Buta Airways flight offers tickets from 29 euros, and AZAL – from 114 euros".

In the long-term development strategy, along with the renewal of the fleet of aircraft, the pricing policy was taken into account. AZAL conducts certain campaigns related to the provision of cheaper air tickets. At the end of 2022, AZAL put up for sale 10,000 air tickets to nine destinations at a price of 29 euro, and similar campaigns are planned in the future. I’d also like to note that AZAL plans to purchase more spacious aircraft, which will also affect ticket prices."
