October 28, Fineko/abc.az. The Azerbaijan State Oil Company (SOCAR) plans to open a representative office in Turkmenistan.
ABC.AZ reports that SOCAR Science & Technology Department’s deputy head Emin Alekperov informed about this at the XXVII International Oil & Gas Conference (OGT-2022) in Ashgabat.
He noted that SOCAR is engaged in the exploration, development, production, transportation and refining of oil and gas:
"The company has joint ventures, representative offices and factories in a number of countries, as well as its own research and design institute.
"Alekperov noted that currently Azerbaijan is mainly engaged in the extraction of natural resources in its part of the Caspian Sea:
"The drilling platforms are interconnected by overpasses, as on the Turkmen side. A network of pipelines has also been created to transport hydrocarbons from sea to land. With a business approach, countries can unite them, which does not require large material resources. In the future, Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan may join the pipeline to transport their energy resources to foreign markets."
