October 27, Fineko/abc.az. The Memorandum of Understanding on joint exploration, development and development of hydrocarbon resources of the Dostlug field opens up new opportunities for Azerbaijan and Turkmenistan for fruitful cooperation in the oil and gas sector.

ABC.AZ reports with reference to the State Oil Company (SOCAR) that company's president Rovshan Najaf stated about this during his visit to Ashgabat.

He spoke about the existing legal framework that creates the basis for the development of cooperation between the two countries in various fields, noted that the Southern Gas Corridor is of great importance both for our country and for the countries of the region.

Noting that today 32 million tons of Turkmen oil have been delivered to world markets via the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan pipeline, the SOCAR president also spoke about the company's multifaceted activities in the oil and gas sector, the opportunities it has in the Caspian basin, and long-term strategic goals.
