Electricity prices in Europe break records

August 29, Fineko/abc.az. The benchmark for the cost of electricity in Germany in 2023 exceeded €1,000 per MWh for the first time.

ABC.AZ reports that electricity prices increased by 6.6% and reached 1,050 euros per MWh. The cost of electricity futures in France also exceeded 1,000 euros.

The termination of gas supplies by Russia is indicated as a reason.

After the Kremlin cut off gas supplies, electricity prices in Europe are hitting records. The inevitable increase in electricity costs is causing inflation in Europe, putting pressure on the balance sheets of households and companies.
