Gas price in Europe on stock exchange exceeds $2,000 per 1,000 cu m

July 26, Fineko/abc.az. The price of gas in Europe during trading on the stock exchange on Tuesday rose above $2,000 per 1,000 cu m for the first time since the beginning of March against the background of the situation around the Nord Stream.

According to the London ICE Exchange, the August futures price at the TTF hub in the Netherlands rose to $2,003 per 1,000 cu m, or $189.75 per MWh. The total increase in the cost of gas since the beginning of the day is almost 7%. On the eve of the total increase in gas prices in Europe for the day amounted to 12%.

This happened against the background of Gazprom's statement about the shutdown of another gas turbine engine at the compressor station due to the end of the period of inter-repair work before major repairs. As a result, from 27 July, gas pumping through the Nord Stream will fall almost by half - to 33 million cu m per day from the current 67 million cu m.
