July 20, Fineko/abc.az. The procedure for calculating the insurance premium on compulsory civil liability insurance of motor vehicle owners may change in Azerbaijan.
ABC.AZ reports that as in many countries, discussions are underway in Azerbaijan in connection with this change.
So, at present, compulsory civil liability insurance is calculated based on the engine volume of the vehicle.
That is, with the increase in cubic meters in engine volume, the service fee also increases. This is a classic approach. And now a new approach is required.
There are proposals that this type of insurance should be calculated not for a cubic meter of a car, but for horsepower, as technologies are developing now. As a result, the horsepower of a vehicle with engine volume of 1,500 cu m exceeds the horsepower of an old car with volume of 2,000-2,500 cu m.
