October 8, Fineko/abc.az. The new staff appointment has been made at the Central Bank of Azerbaijan.

Lala Safarova has been appointed the head of the CBA Methodology Department for Prudential Supervision of Insurers.

In her new position, she will be responsible for development of proactive risk-based supervision mechanisms, as well as for the formation of a more stable and strong insurance sector in the country.

Safarova has accumulated extensive experience in the Central Bank since January 2020, having held the positions of actuary analyst, leading actuary analyst and chief actuary analyst over the years. Prior to joining the CBA, she worked at the Financial Markets Supervision Chamber in the field of macroprudential supervision and methodology, as well as at PAŞA Həyat Sığorta OJSC in the field of underwriting and reinsurance.
