July 18, Fineko/abc.az. If inflation remains constant, the global economic picture may deteriorate, ABC.AZ reports, citing IMF managing director Kristalina Georgieva.

She noted that the states should take urgent measures to combat inflation.

In her speech at the meeting of G20 finance ministers and heads of central banks Georgieva assessed the economic prospects.

She stated that the war in Ukraine is causing a spike in commodity prices – eventually they lead to the fact that hundreds of millions of people cannot feed their families.

"And it's only getting worse," Georgieva summed up.
