August 31, Fineko/abc.az. On August 31, President Ilham Aliyev met with President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev in Bishkek, the capital of Kyrgyzstan.

The head of state extended his congratulations on the successful holding of the first elections to the Kurultai, the new parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan, noting that this was another demonstration of the Kazakh people's support for the large-scale reforms carried out under the leadership of President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev.

The President of Kazakhstan expressed his gratitude to the head of state for the congratulatory letter sent and for the active participation of observers from Azerbaijan in these elections.

During the meeting, the successful development of strategic partnership and allied relations between Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan was noted, and the importance of high-level mutual visits and contacts in deepening our relations was emphasized. Transport and logistics issues were discussed, the significance of the Middle Corridor was touched upon, and an exchange of views took place on the prospects for cooperation between Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan in this direction.

The heads of state also touched upon the upcoming summit of the Conference on Interaction and Confidence Building Measures in Asia to be held in Baku.

During the conversation, future contacts and other issues of mutual interest were discussed.
