June 6, Fineko/abc.az. Russian billionaire of Azerbaijani origin Farhad Ahmedov has appealed to the EU with a request to lift sanctions against him.

ABC.AZ reports that information about this was distributed by UK’s newspaper The Times. Thus, the 66-year-old billionaire wants to return a yacht called Luna.

The cost of the yacht is estimated at $400 million. At that, the EU noted that it called Farhad Ahmedov, who has a fortune of about 1.36 bn pounds, a businessman close to the Kremlin.

In April, the EU imposed sanctions against Farhad Ahmedov as part of Russia's attack on Ukraine.
