April 29, Fineko/abc.az. International conference "South Caucasus: Development & Cooperation" has been held in Baku with the participation of President Ilham Aliyev.

ABC.AZ reports that the head of state delivered speech at the event.

He noted that the initiatives are aimed at new opportunities for regional development in the South Caucasus.

"It is aimed at developing the entire South Caucasus, not only between Azerbaijan and Armenia, of course, this is one of the most important elements of regional cooperation. We lost this opportunity because of separatism, aggression of Armenia, which lasted for 30 years, and the South Caucasus could not integrate. Yes, there is very close cooperation between Azerbaijan and Georgia, which is important at the bilateral and international level. But at that, Armenia should understand that they will not be able to continue living as an isolated island in this region, they have a need to normalize relations with us, they should abandon territorial claims to Azerbaijan and Turkey and should not hesitate about any relations in the South Caucasus at the trilateral level," he said.
