April 22, Fineko/abc.az. A sharp embargo on Russian gas will cause serious economic crisis in Germany and throughout Europe, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz stated during an interview for newspaper Der Spiegel.

ABC.AZ reports that the Chancellor does not see the point in a gas embargo – it will only mean big losses for the economy, but it will not lead to the establishment of peace. In addition, he said that the embargo would create difficulties for Germany's further assistance to Ukraine.

The French Finance Ministry also confirmed that, despite the call of the European Parliament, the embargo on gas supplies from Russia is not yet being discussed as possible sanctions against Russia, since such a ban threatens the economies of several countries.
