New WB forecast for European countries: growth from 5.7% to 11.3%

April 11, Fineko/abc.az. The World Bank has published a report on the slowdown in the Turkish economy this year.

ABC.AZ reports that according to WB’s report, prices for goods have increased because of the ongoing war in Ukraine.

"This situation is expected to create additional pressure on inflation in Turkey and further damage real incomes. The war in Ukraine will also have negative impact on the country's tourism. War can damage trust and investments, and investments can flow abroad. This can accelerate and continue to put pressure on TL," the report says.

The forecast of reduction for developing and developed countries in Europe and Central Asia increased from 5.7% to 11.3%, with the exception of Turkey.
