March 28, Fineko/abc.az. Germany may refuse to import coal and oil from Russia this year.
ABC.AZ reports with reference to the Russian media that the relevant statement was made by German Chancellor Olaf Scholz.
He added that this year the country will try to get rid of dependence on imports of coal and oil from Russia. The Chancellor added that the technical conditions will be developed in order to become independent of Russian gas imports as soon as possible.
"We’re also working on the implementation of similar measures in relation to oil, the refusal of supplies can be implemented very quickly," he said.
Chancellor Scholz also stated that the EU countries are currently dependent on Russian energy supplies, and sharp rejection of them will lead to "significant economic crisis".
