February 28, Fineko/abc.az. Russian oligarchs Deripaska and Friedman are calling for peace.

ABC.AZ reports that Mikhail Fridman, the founder of Alfa-Bank, Russia's largest private bank, became the first oligarch to oppose Russian President Vladimir Putin's invasion orders.

In a letter sent to his staff on Friday and published by the Financial Times on Sunday, February 27, Friedman, a native of Ukraine, called for "an end to the bloodshed" and wrote that "war can never be the answer", although he explained that he did not intend to make his comments "political".

Oleg Deripaska, the owner of Russian holding company Basic Element, also known as a close person of Russian President Vladimir Putin, more clearly stated his position in the Telegram channel.

"Peace is very important! Negotiations should begin in the near future," said Deripaska, who is on the 775th place in the list of the richest people in the world.
