Experts believe that further deterioration of relations between the West and Russia could lead to even greater losses. It is reported that Gennady Timchenko, a member of the Board of Directors of Sibur and NOVATEK, whose wealth decreased almost by 30% in 2022, turned out to be the most impoverished Russian billionaire. In 2022, the 69-year-old businessman's fortune decreased by a third.

On the bank accounts of the son of a Soviet officer Timchenko, who was friends with the future President of Russia Vladimir Putin in the early 1990s, there are about $16 bn, and the bulk of his fortune accounts for Russian gas producer NOVATEK.
