Violators of rules related to tourism to be fined

February 18, Fineko/abc.az. The State Tourism Agency has been given new powers.

ABC.AZ reports that this is reflected in the Draft Amendments to the Code of Administrative Offences signed by President Ilham Aliyev.

Under the amendments, cases of administrative offenses provided for below will be considered by the State Tourism Agency:

- For the sale of a tourist envelope by a tour operator or travel agents without concluding a civil liability insurance contract with the insurer, a fine of 1,000 manats is imposed on individuals and 2,000 manats on legal entities.

- Hotels for activities without determining the star category in accordance with Article 9.1 of the Law on Tourism are fined in the amount of 2,000 to 5,000 manats.

- For failure to submit or late entry of information to be entered in the tourism register, for the absence or late updating of information contained in the tourist register, in violation of Articles 13.2-13.4 of the Law on Tourism, a fine of 300 manats is imposed.

- For the absence of e-registration of persons using accommodation services in accommodation facilities, a fine of 200 manats is imposed.

- For repeated commission by a person who has received an administrative penalty of violations provided for in the articles above, within one year from the date of entry into force of the decision to impose an administrative penalty, a fine of 500 manats is imposed.
