15:21 - 9.10.2026

October 9, Fineko/abc.az. Intergovernmental negotiations between Azerbaijan and Georgia have been successfully completed.

The Ministry of Economy of Georgia informs that in compliance with the new agreement, the validity period of the strategic agreement providing for the supply of natural gas from Azerbaijan to the neighboring country has been extended for another 20 years.

The previous document on the purchase and sale of gas between the parties was in force since 2003, and its validity expired in 2026.

Within the updated agreement, the volume of natural gas supplied will be fully directed to meet Georgia's domestic needs. This long-term economic partnership guarantees uninterrupted and stable energy supply to neighboring country's gas sector.
