BlackBerry sells its patents for $600 million

February 2, Fineko/abc.az. BlackBerry, once a popular phone brand, sells its patents, mainly related to mobile devices, messaging and wireless networks.

ABC.AZ reports that the buyer is American company Catapult IP Innovations Inc, specially created for the acquisition of BlackBerry patent assets.

The company will pay $600 million for the patents. $450 million of this amount will be paid in cash, and the remaining $150 million in installments over three years.

Some time ago, BlackBerry stopped supporting the operating system of the same name.
