Central Bank: Inflation in Turkey has increased

September 3, Fineko/abc.az. The Statistical Committee of Turkey (TÜIK) has published inflation data for August.

ABC.AZ reports that for example, in August, inflation exceeded the interest rate of the Central Bank's monetary policy of 19%.

Thus, in August, the consumer price index (inflation index) in Turkey increased by 19.25% compared with the same period of last year.

The growth of consumer prices in August compared to July was 1.12%.

The economists' forecast was that the monthly price growth would be 0.7%, and the annual growth would be 18.7%. The annual core inflation, which was 17.22% in July, fell to 16.76%.
