May 1, Fineko/abc.az. Today, the Board of the Central Bank of Azerbaijan has taken a decision to maintain the discount rate at the level of 7.25%.

The upper limit of the percentage corridor was lowered from 9% to 8%, and the lower limit of the percentage corridor was kept at 6.75%.

ABC.AZ reports that the above-said statement was made at a press conference by CBA chairman Elman Rustamov.

The chief banker said that lowering the upper limit of the interest rate corridor from 9% to 8% will lead to lower interest rates on loans: "Even if inflation rises slightly, it is below the target range of 4-6% of the Central Bank. The CBA expects that inflation will remain below the target range until the end of the year."
