February 4, Fineko/abc.az. A conference presided by country’s leader and devoted to the results of the first year of the State Program of Socio-Economic Development of the Regions of Azerbaijan for 2019-23 was held yesterday.

ABC.AZ reports that in his speech President Ilham Aliyev raised a range of matters, including the one concerning Azerbaijan's foreign exchange reserves, and stressed their growth.

"With taking into account this January, our foreign exchange reserves have already reached $52 billion. For the past month alone they grew by $1 billion. This is our strategic reserve, which ensures our economic and, to a large extent, political independence," the president emphasized.
