January 7, Fineko/abc.az. For the first 11 months of 2019 (January-November) the number of salary cards in Azerbaijan increased by 266,000 and the number of credit cards decreased by 109,000.

At the end of November 2019 the total number of payment cards in Azerbaijan amounted to 7.207 million.

ABC.AZ reports with reference to Central Bank’s data, in November the total number of payment cards increased by 71,000 compared with the end of October. At the end of October the total number of payment cards reached 7.136 million.

In total, the number of payment cards increased up to 39,000 in January, up to 74,000 in February, no rises in March, up to 97,000 in April, up to 247,000 in May, up to 43,000 in June, up to 121,000 in July, up to 77,000 in August, up to 58,000 in September. And in October the total number of payment cards decreased by 130,000. The decline in the number occurred due to a decline in social cards. The decrease in the number of social cards is caused by the expiration of agro-cards.

It should be noted that this year new farm cards will be issued to agricultural producers for receipt of subsidies.
