November 5, Fineko/abc.az. The number of applications from local and foreign investors wishing to engage in business activities in Karabakh and Eastern Zangezur has exceeded 4,500. Representatives of 39 countries are among the foreign entrepreneurs.

As of October 1, 2026, 4,593 applications were received for doing business in the territories liberated from occupation.

Of them, 4,086 ones came from local and 507 ones from foreign entrepreneurs. Thus, about 11% of all appeals come from foreign investors.

The 3,467 applications received relate to specific investment projects. Of them, 98% are represented by local entrepreneurs and 2% by foreign ones.

These figures indicate that, despite 507 applications from foreign investors, local entrepreneurs predominate among the initiators of specific investment projects.

Trade and the service sector are the leaders in the sectoral structure of investment projects. This area accounts for 63% of projects, agriculture - 15%, industry - 13%. The remaining 9% cover such areas as construction, tourism, healthcare, education, culture, transport and logistics.

The structure of the appeals indicates that entrepreneurs show the greatest interest in trade and services in the region. However, the number of submitted projects does not mean that all of them have been approved or have moved to the implementation stage.
