Eurozone Inflation Hits 3-Year High at 4% — ECB Signals Rate Hikes

20:22 - 4.11.2026

November 3, Fineko/abcnews. According to Eurostat data released Wednesday, annual inflation in the Eurozone accelerated to 4% in October, reaching its highest level since September 2023 and doubling the European Central Bank's (ECB) 2% target.

While core inflation remained unchanged at 2.5%, services inflation climbed to 3.3%, largely driven by surging energy prices. The persistent inflationary pressure has heightened market expectations that the ECB could resume interest rate hikes in December, with markets pricing in a potential deposit rate increase from 2.5% to 3% or higher next year.
