October 19, Fineko/abc.az. International rating agency Fitch Ratings has confirmed the long-term rating of the issuer of the Mortgage & Credit Guarantee Fund of Azerbaijan at the level of ‘BBB−’ with stable outlook corresponding to the country's sovereign rating.
The Agency justified this decision with significant government support for the Fund and its strategic role in the implementation of housing affordability policy. It was also noted that the share of problem loans in the mortgage and rental portfolios of the Fund is less than 0.1%.
At that, the Fund, whose chairman Osman Khaliyev was appointed in September, temporarily suspended the acceptance of new rental applications with the obligation to buy out. The reasons were the limited housing stock and the need to improve the system.
