September 28, Fineko/abc.az. The State Oil Company of the Republic of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) and Comstock Resources are joining forces to evaluate the possibilities of supplying liquefied natural gas (LNG) to international markets outside the U.S.

According to SOCAR, cooperation will be carried out on the basis of the Framework Agreement on Strategic Partnership signed between the parties. Under the agreement, SOCAR will explore the possibilities of liquefaction and sale in foreign markets of natural gas produced by Comstock in the Haynesville shale fields.

Within the cooperation, the main priorities of the parties are:

• Identification of potential buyers: Analysis of LNG demand in international markets and target customers.

• Evaluation of price mechanisms: The construction of optimal price models from a commercial point of view.

• Logistics and Regulation: The study of gas transportation and delivery procedures and international legal/regulatory rules.

This partnership is an integral part of SOCAR's strategy to expand its presence in the global LNG trading market and intensify its activities in international energy markets.
