September 28, Fineko/abc.az. The number of credit cards in Azerbaijan continues to decrease, and by the end of August 2026 it fell to 2.22 million cards.

This figure is 91,000 cards or 4.3% less versus Jan-Aug 2025.

While the number of debit cards increased by 10.2% against Jan-Aug 2025, the credit card downturn returned the number of debit cards in the country to its lowest level since the summer of 2023.

Since the beginning of 2026, the number of credit cards has decreased almost by 55,000 cards.
