Bir launches “Hər yaşa dost” initiative for senior citizens

Bir ecosystem, which places a strong focus on creating an inclusive digital environment, has organized a user experience and digital literacy session for people aged 60 and above as part of the World Health Organization’s (WHO) “age-friendly” (Hər yaşa dost) approach.

Around 40 senior citizens from the “YAŞA” Center of the “Üçüncü Bahar” Public Union took part in the initiative. Participants explored Bir’s digital services, tested various features, and shared their feedback and suggestions. Their input will help make the services more convenient and easier to understand, while also ensuring that features are presented in a way that better meets the needs of older users.

The opinions and suggestions shared during the session will be taken into account in the further development and improvement of Bir’s products and services. The company also plans to continue organizing similar meetings with users from different age groups.

The meeting went beyond evaluating the user experience. To enhance participants’ digital literacy, a dedicated training session titled “Security and User Experience in Banking Services” was also held. Senior citizens received detailed information about the risks of cyber fraud and the rules for using digital banking services safely.

It is worth noting that the WHO’s “age-friendly” approach aims to support people in maintaining and developing their abilities throughout their lives. The main objective of this approach is to ensure that services, products, and technologies are accessible, convenient, and easy to use for people of all ages. Solutions developed based on these principles enable older people to use digital services with greater confidence and comfort.

Since 2017, the Bir ecosystem has supported “YAŞA” Centers by implementing various initiatives aimed at helping senior citizens maintain a healthy and active lifestyle, as well as participate actively in community life.

Bir is the first fully integrated banking, payments and e-commerce ecosystem of the Caucasus, redefining how people and businesses interact with daily services in Azerbaijan. Launched in 2025 to unite the country’s leading brands, including Birbank, Birmarket e-commerce platform, Milliön payment terminals, and m10 e-wallet app, the Bir ecosystem reaches over 5 million users. Through its extensive ecosystem and strategic partnerships with Trendyol marketplace and BakıKart transportation payment solution, Bir is building the foundation for Azerbaijan’s first and largest digital ecosystem for consumers and businesses.
