August 12, Fineko/abc.az. Driven by surging electricity demand, global gas turbine orders reached a record 38 gigawatts in the second quarter.
According to JPMorgan analysis, orders jumped 29% quarter-on-quarter and 71% year-on-year, with the U.S. market accounting for nearly half of the global total.
The expansion is largely fueled by the boom in artificial intelligence data centers and industrial reshoring. Among top manufacturers, Siemens Energy secured the largest share of new orders with 12.5 GW, followed by General Electric (11.3 GW) and Mitsubishi Power (5.3 GW).
As manufacturers do not hold these turbines in stock, the sudden demand spike has led to supply chain bottlenecks and extended lead times.
