July 30, Fineko/abc.az. Global industry is undergoing the biggest technological transformation since electrification. Artificial intelligence, digital twins, computer vision, robotics and 3D printing are becoming key tools for improving production efficiency.
The industrial AI market is to grow from $34 billion in 2025 up to $155 billion by 2030, while the digital twin market from $21 billion up to $150 billion.
Digital twins allow for the creation of virtual replicas of factories, fields, and equipment, enabling real-time process modeling, predictive maintenance, and cost reduction. BMW, Rio Tinto, Gazprom Neft, and other major companies are already utilizing these technologies.
AI is also revolutionizing quality control: Computer vision systems are capable of detecting defects faster and more accurately than humans. Manufacturers are introducing digital assistants and neural networks to analyze data, optimize production, and reduce defects.
At that, the use of autonomous vehicles, such as unmanned trucks, robots, and automated trains, is increasing. In the mining industry, these systems are already being used in large-scale mines, and 3D printing allows for the production of necessary parts directly at the mines, reducing the time required for repairs.
The industry is gradually transitioning to a smart manufacturing model, where decisions are made based on data, and humans are increasingly managing intelligent systems rather than individual operations.
