According to ABC.AZ, President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen highlighted these advancements during a joint press brief alongside President Ilham Aliyev. Underscoring the critical importance of the ongoing peace process within the regional theatre, the EU Commission chief extended her congratulations to the Azerbaijani Head of State on the formal initialing of the historic peace agreement.

"You have shown personal leadership to establish peace in this region, which paves the way for stability, trust, and shared prosperity," von der Leyen remarked. Expressing full readiness to translate peace into concrete, real-world reality rather than leaving it solely on paper, the European Commission President emphasized the necessity of daily structural efforts toward this goal and underscored the EU's commitment to promoting cross-border peace through enhanced connectivity.
