June 25, Fineko/abc.az. The Central Bank of Azerbaijan (CBA) has introduced new security requirements for consumer loans issued remotely. According to the decision, banks and non-banking credit institutions should provide customers with the option to block online loan applications and remote increases in the credit limit.
ABC.AZ informs that the relevant decision was made by the CBA Board on April 28, 2026.According to the changes that will come into force on October 1, 2026, citizens will be able to impose a restriction on concluding remote consumer lending contracts in their name or increasing their credit limit through all sales channels based on a written request. This restriction can only be lifted based on a request submitted in the client's physical presence, using their enhanced e-signature or enhanced client authentication.
