June 23, Fineko/abc.az. The South Korean stock market has fallen sharply on Tuesday: KOSPI index declined more than by 5-6% after a long rally, driven by the growth of semiconductor stocks and the inflow of foreign capital.

ABC.AZ reports tht the sales were so large that the exchange temporarily suspended algorithmic trading after the sharp drop in futures.

Additional pressure on the market was exerted by MSCI's decision not to include South Korea in the developed market index, which reduced expectations of new foreign investment.

The index retreated to around 8,621, continuing its correction from recent all-time highs and investor profit-taking.
