Historical record: Nikkei index exceeds 72,000 points first time

June 22, Fineko/abc.az. Nikkei index on the Tokyo Stock Exchange, reflecting the dynamics of stock prices of 225 leading Japanese companies, crossed the threshold of 72,000 points on Monday for the first time in history, ABC.AZ informs, referring to the bidding data.

The previous record lasted only two business days from Thursday. During the morning session, the index rose by 1.87% or by 1,334.06 points up to 7,2584.15 points.

The increase in quotations is attributed to information about the start of negotiations in Switzerlandon Sunday between the U.S. and Iran.
