June 19, Fineko/abc.az. The development of the Middle Corridor should help reduce border delays, reduce trade costs, and facilitate cross-border transit of payments.

ABC.AZ reports that the Director of the Department of Regional Cooperation & Integration of the Asian Development Bank (ADB) Jung Woo Kang made the relevant statement at a panel discussion at the 51st annual meeting of the Islamic Development Bank Group in Baku.

According to Kang, it is necessary to determine what results can be achieved by both projects in the field of transport infrastructure and development of regulatory and digital connectivity between countries.

"Key performance indicators should be defined in advance, and each step should be measured based on established criteria. This way we will be able to assess progress, understand what else needs to be done, and determine which external financing to attract," he said.

Kang noted that the bank has accumulated extensive experience in issuing green and sustainable bonds, and is ready to apply it to the Middle Corridor. The ADB representative believes that the ADB is ready to support projects for development of the Middle Corridor and apply experience of issuing green bonds.
