June 17, Fineko/abc.az. Construction of a tourist town is planned in Uzbekistan's Jizzakh region with the participation of investors from Azerbaijan and the U.S.

ABC.AZ informs that speaking at the Uzbek-Azerbaijani Forum of Industrial and Economic Zones, Ziyadin Sayidov, Director of the Jizzakh Free Economic Zone (FEZ) said the project is proposed for development near Aydarkul Lake, one of Uzbekistan's largest lakes with significant tourism potential.

"Together with Azerbaijani and American investors, we want to build a small tourist town. Our friends from Azerbaijan have extensive experience in this area, and we hope to implement this project jointly," Sayidov said.

He also noted that an Expo Center modeled on Azerbaijan's experience is planned for construction in Jizzakh.

According to Sayidov, the Jizzakh Region offers broad opportunities for tourism development thanks to its mountainous areas and natural attractions.

He expressed confidence that the Uzbek-Azerbaijani Forum of Industrial and Economic Zones would become an important step toward expanding bilateral cooperation, attracting new investment, and implementing joint projects.

Sayidov added that the Jizzakh region is open to cooperation and ready to offer investors favorable conditions for doing business and launching new initiatives.
