Russia's oil & gas revenues grow, but backlog remains

17:44 - 16.06.2026

June 16, Fineko/abc.az. In May, Russia's oil & gas revenues increased up to 678.9 billion rubles, and additional revenues up to 175 billion rubles; in June, approx. 220 billion rubles are expected. The growth is linked to high oil prices and geopolitical tensions.

ABC.AZ reports that by the end of Jan-May 2026, only a third of the annual plan has been completed, and a significantly higher monthly income level is required to achieve it.

Analysts believe that revenues may remain elevated in the summer, but downside risks remain due to possible price stabilization, a strong ruble, and production restrictions.
