June 11, Fineko/abc.az. It is planned to increase the capacity of cold storage facilities in Azerbaijan up to 500,000 tons.

ABC.AZ informs that Rashad Huseynov, the director of the Center for Agrarian Research at the Ministry of Agriculture, said this at a public hearing in the Milli Majlis.

According to Huseynov, the current figure is nearly 400,000 tons, and it is planned to increase it up to 500,000 tons due to the expansion of infrastructure. As part of the support measures, preferential mechanisms are envisaged for acquisition of warehouses, as well as provision of preferential loans.

He added that in the field of winemaking, increase of the number of wineries up to 20 is planned. For this purpose, subsidies for equipment will be applied, as well as support for the planting of technical grape varieties as part of expansion of horticultural programs.
