Artificial intelligence on 300,000 hectares is a big transformation in agriculture

September 8, Fineko/abc.az. Agriculture Minister Majnun Mammadov said at the Baku Climate Action Week 2026 that within the state program, by 2030 it is planned to increase the area of land with modern irrigation systems from 130,000 up to 300,000 hectares, as well as to create early warning systems in climatically vulnerable regions.

He also said that artificial intelligence, satellite technologies, drones and sensors are being introduced as part of digitalization of the sector.

"As part of the Ministry's initiative on the use of AI in the agricultural sector, data integration is underway. Currently, more than 180 meteorological and climate stations are being installed throughout the country. The value of technologies lies in their practical benefits for farmers, efficient use of water resources and timely risk management," Mammadov stressed.
