October 8, Fineko/abc.az. Milli Majlis Committee on Science & Education’s chairman Anar Iskenderov reported on important changes expected in the framework of the new Bill on Higher Education.

According to Iskenderov, it is planned to include colleges in higher education institutions of the relevant profile, and some colleges that are not necessary will be eliminated.

As an example, Committee’s chair cited the integration of the Pedagogical College into the Azerbaijan State Pedagogical University and noted that work is underway to apply a similar model at the Azerbaijan Medical University and the Azerbaijan State Agrarian University.

The main goal of the reforms is to bring the education received by Azerbaijani youth in line with international standards and ensure that there are no additional obstacles to studying or working abroad.
