This country calls on SOCAR to expand its activities

June 4, Fineko/abc.az. Egypt and Azerbaijan are exploring long-term partnership opportunities in the oil and gas industry.

ABC.AZ informs that ECO FIN Agency reports about this with reference to the Egyptian Ministry of Petroleum.

Negotiations on this topic took place during a meeting between Egyptian Oil Minister Karim Badawi and Vice President of the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) Elshad Nasirov on the sidelines of the Baku Energy Week.

"The parties focused their discussions on enhancing the long-term strategic partnership between the two countries and expanding its scope," the statement says.

Minister Badawi drew attention to Egypt's well-developed oil refining, transportation, storage and export infrastructure, presenting these assets as the basis for expanding cooperation.

He also outlined investment opportunities in the field of exploration, development and production of hydrocarbons, and invited SOCAR to expand its presence in the Egyptian market.
