Azerbaijan to subsidize loan interests for modern livestock and fish breeding farms

18:34 - 25.05.2026

25 May, Fineko/abc.az. Azerbaijan will introduce state subsidies for interest rates on loans taken out by modern farms involved in pedigree livestock and fish breeding.

ABC.AZ reports that this incentive is reflected in the "State Program for the Development of Production and Processing of Agricultural, Fishery, and Aquaculture Products in the Republic of Azerbaijan for 2026–2030," approved by President Ilham Aliyev.

According to the program, the Ministry of Economy has been tasked with taking measures to subsidize interest rates calculated on AZN-denominated loans, as well as the costs of completed investment projects for suppliers and farms that utilize modern technologies, maintain a reliable feed base, and breed pedigree animals or fish.

The subsidies will be funded by the "Azerbaijan Business Development Fund" OJSC for loans obtained from resident banks and non-bank credit institutions (NBCIs) for a period of 5 years, starting from 2027.
