25 May, Fineko/abc.az. Subsidies are of great importance for the development of agriculture. Azerbaijan is one of the few countries in the world that applies large-scale and diversified subsidy mechanisms.

ABC.AZ reports that President Ilham Aliyev made these remarks during a meeting dedicated to agricultural issues.

Emphasizing that there are opportunities for further improvement in this area and that it must be done, the head of state said: "Various concessions are provided, including fertilizer and fuel discounts. I can say that this is also applied in a very limited number of countries globally."

"The adopted programs and decisions have led to a major breakthrough. However, the stagnation observed in agricultural development over the past few years certainly gives us pause for thought, and for this purpose, a State Program has been developed and will be adopted," the president noted.
