Oil price goes down: Brent drops below $98 a barrel

May 25, Fineko/abc.az. Prices for oil of benchmark grades are declining in Monday’s trading.

As of 09:18, July’s Brent crude futures at the ICE Futures Europe exchange fell by $5.85 (5.65%) compared with the closing level of the previous session, to $97.69 per barrel. Following the trading on May 22, the contract rose by $0.96 (0.94%) up to $103.54 per barrel.

At the New York Mercantile Exchange (NYMEX), July’s WTI crude futures dropped by $5.79 (5.99%) to $90.81 per barrel by 09:18. On Friday, the contract gained $0.25 (0.26%) in price and ended trading at around $96.60 per barrel.

Following the past week, crude oil Brent decreased by 5.24% and WTI by 4.38%.
