Nikol Pashinyan: Azerbaijani and Armenian businessmen to switch to direct contacts

16:53 - 30.04.2026

April 30, Fineko/abc.az. Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has commented on issues relating to the possible development of economic ties and the exchange of products with Azerbaijan.

ABC.AZ informs that answering journalists' questions about the meeting of Azerbaijani Deputy Prime Minister Shahin Mustafayev with business representatives, Pashinyan said that so far, the exchange of lists of potential products between entrepreneurs has mainly been carried out through the governments of the two countries. He added that this process is now moving to the stage of establishing direct business contacts between the companies.

"Now we are connecting interested entrepreneurs with each other so that they can exchange lists directly. The government can perform this function for a certain period, but at the next stage, businessmen should work directly," he said.

The PM also stated that at the moment the list of goods that can be exported from Armenia to Azerbaijan has not yet been determined, and it is premature to publish such lists. According to him, the final decisions will be influenced by factors such as price, logistics, timing and volume of deliveries.

"At the moment, speech is only about a preliminary interest. It would be wrong to publish incomplete data. When real exports begin, this will be reflected in official statistics," he stressed.

Pashinyan added that expansion of economic ties between Armenia and Azerbaijan is possible in the future, but at the current stage, the range of potential mutual trade remains limited, and the process will develop gradually.
