June 10, Fineko/abc.az. German automobile concern Mercedes-Benz, together with Ukrainian company Tytan Technologies, is developing mobile anti-drone system Drone Defender, based on G-Class SUV.
ABC.AZ reports that German magazine Der Spiegel informs about this, citing sources in the defense industry.
According to the publication, the system will be equipped with radars, detection sensors and means of destroying drones. The presentation of the finished model is scheduled at the defense exhibition in Berlin in the coming months. It is noted that Tytan Technologies is already actively supplying drones to the armed forces of Ukraine.
Mercedes-Benz has not officially commented on the partnership, however, according to Spiegel, the group considers the defense sector as a new business area amid the crisis in traditional automotive markets.
