April 6, Fineko/abc.az. An official application has been signed for the admission of the Association of Banks of Azerbaijan (ABA) to membership in the Asian Financial Cooperation Association (AFCA).

ABC.AZ reports, referring to ABA, that the management of the organization held a working meeting with the leadership of AFCA as part of an official visit to China.

At the meeting, organized by the Azerbaijan Center for Banking & Financial Education, our country was represented by ABA President Zakir Nuriyev, Executive Director Yunus Abdulov, Chief Economist Azizaga Hagverdiyev and representatives of Azerbaijan's leading banks.

Opening the meeting with an introductory speech, Nuriyev and the AFCA leadership welcomed the participants and stressed the strategic importance of cooperation between the financial institutions of the two countries. During the event, the AFCA management was provided with detailed information on the current macroeconomic situation in Azerbaijan, financial stability indicators and current trends in the banking sector. At the same time, attention was drawn to ABA's activities, services provided to member banks, and international partner projects. An agreement was reached between the parties on joint projects, expansion of mutual exchange of experience and information.
