March 17, fineko/abc.az. In 2025, the residents of Azerbaijan made direct investments for $2.528 bn in the economy of foreign countries.
ABC.AZ reports that Samir Nasirov, the director of the CBA Statistics Department, made the above-said statement at a briefing at the Central Bank.
He added that in this context, Israel was put in the 1st place in connection with the Tamar gas field project: "In the 3rd quarter of 2025, 5.543 million were invested in the field located in the Mediterranean Sea, as we have already reported. In addition, at the end of the year, direct investments were directed to Turkey - $345 million, to the UAE - $329.1 million, to the UK - $212.3 million, and to Georgia - $179.5 million".
Besides, the CBA representative noted that foreign residents made $6.595 billion of direct investments in Azerbaijan: "The UK ranks 1st here with $1.735 billion and is followed by Turkey ($1.23 billion), South Cyprus ($751.1 million), the UAE ($404.8 million) and Iran ($375.3 million)."
